A Glimpse: Mother’s Day

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cardstore.

Mother’s Day is just over a week away.  Every time Mathlete and I start to discuss plans for Mother’s Day, I am reminded of six years ago when I first became a mom.  Talk about a complete shock?!  Being a mom is crazy hard but also super rewarding.  Growing up, I didn’t always have the greatest relationship with my mom because well…I’m female and was probably a super emotional brat back then. Thankfully, as I grew up, I really started to recognize how awesome my mom is and how hard she worked to make my life as amazing as she possibly could.  I definitely credit her with so much of who I am today {well, all the good parts…she totally could have spared a little patience and passed it along though because I definitely lack that}.

I mean, don’t you wish you had these two for parents?!  They take funny selfies in fast food restaurants.

Guest Blogger: Salted Caramel Sauce

Hi everyone!  I’m Jennifer and I blog at House of Frolic and Mirth.  My husband came up with the title based on the antics of our two adorable yet lively daughters.  I mostly write about delicious food, traveling across the country, and everyday fun.  I’d love for you to join me on Facebook and Pinterest so I can get to know you, and vice versa.  Be prepared, you’re about to read something delicious……..

Move over hot fudge, there’s a new kid in town.  Salted caramel has become extremely popular over the last few years, and this recipe is one you’ll want to make and share.  It’s extremely easy but does take patience.  The results are incredible–sweet, creamy, and the perfect amount of salt combine to make one fantastic caramel sauce!

Gift Giving – Thinking Outside of Box Store

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and WE’VE Built but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #GiftaStory  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

We all have them…special people in our lives who are nearly impossible to shop for.  The father who buys himself everything…the grandmother who already has everything…the wonderful au pair who you know will eventually have to get anything you give back to their home country and is limited on suitcase space.   You can probably guess that last one is me!  Maya has been with us since July and she is beyond wonderful.  Seriously, I could go on and on.  As I was searching for gift ideas for her, I knew that what I chose needed to be special like her but also on the smaller side to make it easy to get back to Germany when the time came.

Scents of the Season – Dried Fruit Potpourri

During the holiday season, I am always looking for gift ideas that are homemade and don’t cost a lot of money.  With so many teachers and other people to give small gifts too, a homemade gift is a great option because it is thoughtful but easier to keep the costs under control.  This year, I decided to try my hand at making dried fruit potpourri to give as gifts.
