Guest Blogger: Cereal Muffins

Cereal Muffins

No cool story behind these muffins. I woke up one morning and was bored with my breakfast options. I wanted cinnamon chip pancakes, but… eh. I didn’t want oatmeal because no doctoring in the world could get me to choke it down. I kinda wanted cereal, but like Chinese food, I eat it and then I’m hungry 20 minutes later. Then I thought about muffins, but I didn’t want the usual muffin suspects and I wasn’t in the mood to blow 400 calories on cinnamon coffee cake muffins either. A slight dilemma.

Guest Blogger: Peppermint Oreo Cookie Balls

Hi there! Grab a cup of coffee and sit down with me for a bit! My name is Kelli and I run the blog Confections + Coffee! I am excited and honored to be a part of the holiday season guest posting for Just Us Four. I hope you enjoy these delicious bite sized treats! They were made with you busy bakers in mind! Enjoy!

It’s the holiday season and you know what that means, right? Peppermint! One of the only times of the year where peppermint is totally acceptable in every dessert you make!

Do you have a favorite peppermint candy? I love those soft peppermint sticks, I could eat a whole bag of them! As a matter of fact, I do almost every time I buy them, so I usually buy two bags. :)

So it’s two days before Christmas and you have very little time to make a dessert for that gathering you kind of maybe forgot about. Oops! I’ve been there done that, which is actually how I developed these peppermint oreo cookie balls! You can thank me later. :)

Guest Blogger: Chocolate Almond Butter Marshmallow Fudge with Sea Salt

Hello Just Us Four readers and fans! I’m Sarah, The Chef Next Door, and am so excited to be guest blogging for Shannah today!

I am very passionate about baking, so over on my blog you’ll find lots of delicious recipes for sweet treats. I cook too, and also share my favorite meals.

Today I’m sharing with you a delicious Chocolate Almond Butter Marshmallow Fudge with Sea Salt. Although it sounds rich and decadent, it really isn’t too sweet at all. Using the almond butter evens out the flavors and the sea salt gives it the perfect touch.

Guest Blogger: Thanksgiving Wine Glass Charms

This holiday season, I am giving you the gift of new blogs to read!  Yep, throughout the holiday season, I will have guest bloggers come here and share a little bit of their awesomeness so you will have fun new blogs to read for the new year.  Today, we start with our first guest blogger, Katie!

**********************************************************

Hello Just Us Four readers! I’m Katie from Snap-On Buttons and I am so pleased to be a guest blogger! Thanksgiving is perhaps my favorite holiday and if your like me, there’s always a full house. I’m here to show you how to make these super cute Thanksgiving wine glass charms.

I hate always having to second guess where I put down my drink at parties. That’s where wine glass charms come in handy. Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut out charms using their Thanksgiving charms. I really liked these charms because their subtle and inexpensive.

I cut out the same charms in different card stock colors, so guests have more options and diversity among the charms.

To make the rings for the wine charms, I used gold wire since it matches my Thanksgiving decor the best. However, it could easily be customized to match yours as well. Using wire cutters, I cut wire about 2 inches long and wrapped it around a soda bottle cap.

Slip the charm onto the wire and you have a super cute, easy, and practical craft for Thanksgiving!

I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season! I hope you’ll stop by Snap-on Buttons soon to see what I’ve been up to!

Those charms are super cute! I know I always hate losing my glass at parties too so this is definitely an idea I would use.  Thanks so much Katie!

Be sure to visit Katie and see all the other awesome ideas she has to share!

{Guest Post} Edible Cookie Dough Recipe

Guest posts didn’t stop just because the calendar flipped from August to September.  Today, Susan from The Royal Cook, is here to share  her edible cookie dough recipe.

**************************************************************************

Hello Just Us Four readers!  I’m Susan from The Royal Cook and am thrilled to be guest posting here today!   I am a mommy to 5 (yes 5!!) and in my spare time (ha ha!) I blog about what comes out of my kitchen.

My kids, especially my girls, can’t seem to get enough edible cookie dough.  I make it for them at least once a week, if not once a day!  For those of you who are not huge chocolate fans (is there really such a thing?!?), so aren’t really into my Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, try out this Edible Sugar Cookie Dough.  And even if you are a huge chocolate fan, still try it out.  It’s delicious!  My 12 year old and her bestie have decided they like it even better than Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.  That’s pretty big.  Especially if you’ve ever seen the way they devour the stuff!

I’m pretty sure sprinkles make everything taste better. :)

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon orange extract
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon baking powder

Combine sugar, butter, vanilla, orange extract and milk.  Mix well.  Add flour, baking soda and baking powder and mix until combined.

Recipe from The Royal Cook – an original!

You can find me on Facebook and Pinterest.  I’d love to have you follow along!

{Guest Post} Design Inspiration through Photos

Ever wanted to take a trip around an awesomely decorated room while the owner is away to get some design inspiration?  Well, today’s guest post does just that.  A BIG thank you to Bliss for sharing some of the great ideas she found in her daughter’s room.

*************************************************

Hello Just Us Four readers, I’m Bliss and my blog Bliss Ranch is about DIY, a recipe now and then, and I toss in some silliness for good measure. Shannah has a lot on her plate  and I’m taking my turn helping out by stepping up to that plate.  Honestly, the mighty fine recipes she posts probably make lots of people have a lot on their plate, but that isn’t what’s keeping her busy although it might be what is adding a few pounds to folks’ mid section!

I decided that I was going to give Shannah’s readers a glimpse of something never shown on my own blog – ever.  I laid in wait till my daughter was gone and sprang on her room with my camera.
